Intel Culture and Diversity
Intel is a place where employees can pursue their passions, support world-changing initiatives, and thrive intellectually.
Our People: Intel’s Greatest Asset
Our employees are as diverse as our customers, vendors, and colleagues in the global market. This worldwide perspective helps us anticipate and provide for the growing needs of a changing marketplace.
Our global workforce possesses a unique set of experiences and abilities that are critical to our success. And their passion for innovation helps us maintain our role as a technology leader. We must therefore respect the viewpoints of all our people and honor the values of discipline, quality, and risk-taking that our company was built on.
We provide equal employment opportunities for all applicants and employees. We do not discriminate; we make sure women, minorities, people with disabilities, people in the military and veterans, and other diverse groups are appropriately represented. If there are concerns about discrimination, our Open Door practices encourage employees to speak up and expect a timely response.
At Intel, we know diversity comes with its own inherent benefits. We continue to invest in our leadership position to maintain and advance diversity. Intel focuses on leadership and development initiatives for our African American, Hispanic, and women employees. Three leadership councils comprised of experienced executives serve as role models and actively support these programs. At Intel, we are also focusing on efforts to strengthen our leadership of our veteran and gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) employees.
Intel’s diversity strategy also includes support for our industry leading employee group program featuring 23 chartered employee groups with over 100 chapters.
At Intel, we respect, value, and celebrate the unique points of view and opportunities that come with our diverse employee population. Our corporate business principles, policies, and strategic initiatives are designed to further develop and retain our diverse workforce. We are proud of the awards and recognition we receive from industry and the community.
Intel is a worldwide company with countless opportunities.
Diversity in Education
Intel is helping to transform the lives of millions through education. We are committed to delivering education initiatives that ensure underserved and underrepresented communities and students have access to technology and are inspired to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). Intel believes that a highly educated workforce and a strong technology infrastructure are the foundations for success in today’s knowledge economy. We partner with organizations in the community that provide scholarships and fellowships for minority engineering students. The Diversity Scholar Program provides an avenue for those same students to intern at Intel to gain hands-on experience. The Intel Computer Clubhouse Network (ICCN) provides access to technology with over 100 locations worldwide.
STAY WITH IT Initiative
As a member of the President’s Council on Jobs and Competitiveness, former Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini co-led the High Tech Education working group, with a mission to design approaches to increase the retention and graduation rates of engineers in the U.S. One of the resulting initiatives was STAY WITH IT™—the first online community designed to motivate engineering students on their path to graduation. Find STAY WITH IT on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
