Intel® Xeon® Processor E5-2600 v2 Product Family with Intel® Communications Chipset 89xx Series

Formerly Crystal Forest/Server Refresh (Ivy Bridge-EP + Cave Creek)

Based on Intel® microarchitecture (formerly Ivy Bridge) and manufactured on 22-nanometer process technology, these processors provide significant performance and power efficiency improvement over the previous-generation Intel® Xeon® processors E5-2600 product family. This is the first Intel® Xeon® processor family with extended lifecycle support to offer 10-core/single-socket and 20-core/dual-socket configurations.

  • Paired with the Intel® Communications Chipset 89xx series, this platform enables three communications workloads—application, control, and packet processing—and provides hardware acceleration services for more efficient cryptographic and compression performance. 
  • The platform addresses performance, I/O, memory, and acceleration capabilities to meet the needs of a wide range of large scale communications applications, such as high-end security appliances and blades, enterprise routers, and wireless infrastructure solutions. Together with the Intel® Data Plane Development Kit (Intel® DPDK), platform packet processing speeds can be improved to handle increasing network traffic data rates and associated control and signaling requirements.
